A new website offering free access to computer and Internet training resources was launched in Montevideo, Uruguay on 29 November.
‘ItrainOnline’ — found at www.itrainonline.org — aims to bring together computer training resources developed by and for non-governmental organisations, development organisations and other civil society groups.
Topics covered range from computer and Internet basics to building online communities and incorporating audio and video into websites.
The site — launched in English and Spanish with a view to adding more languages in 2002 — has been created by six international organisations: the Association for Progressive Communications; Bellanet International Secretariat; the International Institute for Communication and Development; the International Institute for Sustainable Development; the International Network for the Availability of Scientific Publications and OneWorld.
