THIS CONFERENCE CALL TOOK PLACE ON, 1 NOVEMBER 2022

COP27, to be hosted by Egypt, has been billed as ‘Africa’s COP’. But will it live up to the name and deliver the commitments Africans want to see? And what do other regions hope to gain from this hotly anticipated UN climate convention, on issues such as adaptation, loss and damage, and clean energy?

SciDev.Net’s regional editors and guest climate experts discussed the key issues ahead of the November COP 27 summit.

Our guests were:

Nisha Krishnan – Director for Climate Resilience, Africa, World Resources Institute

Harjeet Singh – Head of Global Political Strategy, Climate Action Network International; Global Director for Engagement and Partnerships, Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty Initiative

Maha Al-Zu’bi – Researcher,  Agricultural Water Solutions, International Water Management Institute, Cairo
