Mao Sot

Since 1989, the Mae Tao Clinic of Mae Sot, in western Thailand, has cared for displaced Burmese people. Today this community hospital is also a training hub that attracts ethnic minority health workers from all over Myanmar. Cynthia Maung, the clinic’s founder and director, explains why building local capacity improves access to health services for ethnic minorities.
