The Belo Monte Dam hydroelectric complex, on the Xingu River in Brazil’s Amazon rainforest, is due to be completed in 2019. Photographer Daniel Beltrá visited the area. His pictures, part of the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition hosted by the Natural History Museum in London, United Kingdom, show how the local environment has been affected by the industrial activities spurred by the project.
