Rahma Diaa is an award-winning journalist based in Egypt, with a particular interest in the climate crisis and sustainability in the Arab world and Africa.

She has worked for Dostor, Tahrir and Aswat Masriya-Reuters websites since 2009, and written for Arab and foreign media outlets including Asharq news, Scientific American (Arabic version), climate tracker, VICE, CFI, and ARIJ.

Rahma has won eight local, regional, and international press awards, the most recent being the Covering Climate Now award for “emerging journalist”, 2021 and the 2022 Sozan Zaki award.
