Pema Gyamtsho joined the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) as its director general in October 2020. He previously served the Royal Government of Bhutan for over three decades. He was Minister of Agriculture and Forests from 2008 to 2013 and led Bhutan’s delegation to COP15 in Denmark in 2009. Pema holds an MSc in agriculture from Lincoln University, New Zealand, and a PhD in natural sciences from the Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, Switzerland.
