Researchers are warning that the latest conflict in the Middle East could seriously damage long-term efforts to foster scientific collaboration in the region.
War conditions, supply shortages and restrictions on travel by Palestinian scientists have brought previous collaboration to a standstill, and the escalation of conflict has polarised the views of researchers in both camps.
But many researchers are convinced that any let-up in the conflict may allow for a rapid revival in collaboration between Israeli and Arab scientists.
