James Kananura Tibenderana, a Ugandan, trained as a medical doctor at Makerere University, Kampala and as an epidemiologist at Institute of Public Health, University of Cambridge and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. He is a malaria and public health expert, with over 20 years of experience in epidemiology, infectious and tropical diseases and health system strengthening. He is an Honorary Assistant Professor in the Department of Disease Control, Faculty of Infectious and Tropical Diseases at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine
