Better journalism can benefit farmers all over the world, raising awareness about major ethical issues, such as the use of genetically modified strains, but also informing smallholders about new technologies that can improve productivity. These are the conclusions of a panel discussion organised by SciDev.Net, in partnership with the Cornell Alliance for Science, on 10 June, at the World Conference of Science Journalists in Seoul, South Korea.

In this audio piece, we interview three of the panellists from different regions. They share their views on the need for greater media attention on agriculture and farmers, suggesting ways to cover an issue that, despite affecting billions worldwide, often falls off the radar.
