This story was instrumental in the reopening of the Planetarium in Lima, Peru. The Planetarium is the only facility of its kind in this area and serves a population of over 10 million people. But the facility was forced to shut down due to vandalism of power lines. Authorities in Peru were unaware of these issues until this story was published. CONCYTEC, the governing institution of the National System of Science and Technology and Technological Innovation, helped address the problem and the Planetarium has now been reopened.
