Chinese scientists are making valuable contributions to government policy on several key issues affecting the country’s development.


Speaking at the 12th General Assembly of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), its president Lu Yongxiang hailed the contribution of CAS consultations and appraisals to Beijing’s policy-makers.


CAS has completed research and submitted proposals on a range of issues including biodiversity, pollution, AIDS intervention and basic sciences. The academy will encourage more scientists engage decision makers on critical development issues, said Lu.
