A gateway providing direct access to 448 selected sites on the Internet of special interest to health professionals, medical library communities, publishers and non-government organisations in both developing and transitional countries has been opened by the International Network for the Availability of Scientific Publications (INASP).

The gateway has been adapted for international use from one developed by the library of the University of Zambia School of Medicine. Known as INASP Health Links, it has three sections: general resources, a subject index, and information on library and publishing support and the use of information and communication technologies (ICTs). Every section has several pages of hyperlinks, each of which carries a brief description of the site referred to.
