India's science minister M. M. Joshi is facing charges — but has not been found guilty, as erroneously reported by this website — of helping foment a religious riot in 1992. We apologise for this error, for which neither the journal Science (in which the original news item appeared), nor the author of the original article, Pallava Bagla, carries responsibility. Joshi has denied the charges that have been made against him. The corrected item can be found here.
