The Pan American Health Organisation (PAHO) has launched an award to stimulate excellence in bioethics — the emerging discipline that considers the moral implications of medical and scientific advances.
The 2002 Manuel Velazco-Suarez Bioethics Award aims to assist a young researcher living in Latin America or the Caribbean.
The prize will consist of US$10,000 and a paid trip to Washington DC to attend a PAHO meeting, at which the award will be presented.
The closing date for nominations is 15 June. For more details, see SciDev.Net’s Offers/Announcements page.
