Global Forum on Innovations for Marginal Environments (GFIME)

The Global Forum on Innovations for Marginal Environments (GFIME) will be held in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on 20-21 November 2019.

GFIME is organized by the International Center for Biosaline Agriculture (ICBA) in collaboration with the Food Security Office of the UAE, the Advanced Sciences Office of the UAE, the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), and Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD).

GFIME is focused on industry development and agriculture innovation in the region – a high priority for government and agribusiness in the fight against climate, nutrition and food security challenges. It will bring together 250 leading public and private sector experts, agribusiness leaders, scientists, and decision-makers to discuss critical challenges threatening food security and agriculture ecosystems.

Taking a holistic approach by including the entire agriculture value chain (government, business/industry, aid & development, and scientists/researchers), GFIME is the first of its scope in the region. Attracting international policymakers, and decision-makers over two days, GFIME attendees will develop valuable policies, partnerships, and projects while showcasing the latest progress made against threats to marginal environments.
