Women in global health

Join NIHR’s campaign celebrating women in global health

Join the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) global health research community in our social campaign to celebrate women in global health.

Launched on 11 February, International Day of Women and Girls in Science, it continues until 8 March, International Women’s Day, with various themes and dialogues focusing on women in global health research, particularly in lower and middle income countries.

Get involved and join the conversation

Take part in conversations on social media using the hashtag #WomenInGlobalHealth and follow @NIHRGlobal Twitter feed and the NIHR LinkedIn and Facebook pages.

  • Theme 1 – Celebrate women in global health who inspire you.

Women work across many disciplines in many countries, and are of all ages and career stages. We want to hear all your diverse stories.

  • Theme 2 – How did your journey in science and health begin?

How did you or someone you know get interested in science and health research? Post pictures that represent the journey.

  • Theme 3 – Challenge for change

How are women in science and health making a more inclusive and better world?   And what is one thing you want to see changed between now and this time next year?
