<p>A new research programme to boost scientific collaboration between Sweden and <BR>developing countries has been launched by the Swedish International Development Co-operation agency and the Swedish Research Council.<BR><BR>‘Swedish Research Links’ has funds of 10 million SEK (US$1 million) per year to support joint research projects involving researchers from both Sweden and from developing countries.<BR><BR>In particular, the programme is oriented towards developing nations with relatively strong resources in Asia, the Middle East and North Africa.<BR><BR>Researchers in all fields of science can apply for funds of up to 1 million SEK (US$96,800) per project distributed over four years.<BR><BR>© SciDev.Net 2002</p>
