The main differences, compared with the developed world, are around access to information and services, higher vulnerability to shocks and natural disasters, and limited financial resources.
Recommendations include a more-holistic and long-term approach to development related to science and technology, with multistakeholder and multidisciplinary teams collaborating to tackle complex issues more effectively, while placing a greater focus on gender relations, rural populations and young people.
