Producing drinking water on the cheap in Myanmar

Lilypad is a company based in Taunggyi, Myanmar, that makes water filters from a mixture of clay and powdered rice husks. In laboratory tests, these filters have proved effective at eliminating parasites and bacteria, including the one that causes cholera, from water.
Melanie Edwards, Lilypad advisor, explains how this cost-effective technology can provide access to clean drinking water in the developing world.
