Joint science projects planned by Jordan and Pakistan

Jordan and Pakistan have announced plans to undertake joint science and technology projects.


The eight projects will include work in the fields of biotechnology, agriculture, renewable energy and pharmaceuticals. The two countries will also consider additional projects in these and other fields, including nanotechnology.


Specific areas of research planned include rainwater harvesting in desert areas, improved irrigation systems, fertiliser management in soils affected by salt, and use of natural fibres in place of asbestos in buildings.
