Asian scientists who moved to the United States as part of the brain drain are returning home in large numbers, according to a report by the American Electronic Association.

The report, Losing the competitive advantage? The challenge for science and technology in the United States, says that this and other factors mean that countries such as China and India threaten US dominance in the technology sector.

According to the report, while the United States is cutting funding for research and development, China and India are increasing investment, producing large numbers of skilled workers, and introducing policy reforms to boost their high-tech industries.
