REDD Realities

This report investigates the effectiveness of various legislations in protecting biodiversity and indigenous peoples' rights when implementing projects to reduce emissions from deforestation and forest degradation (REDD).

It includes case studies from Columbia, India, Mozambique and Nepal. The authors recommend a rights-based forest conservation regime and conclude that national and international policies must fully involve indigenous peoples, small farmers and women.
