North-South research partnerships: the ethics of carrying out research in developing countries

In this article Tan-Torres Edejer suggests that scientific advances are not the only yardstick to measure the success of a research collaboration between developed and developing countries. Equally important indicators of success include the choice of identified priorities as areas of work, the sustainability of the studied interventions outside the research setting and investment in developing local research capacity.
