You will help deliver RBG Kew’s mission by supporting the development and implementation of RBG Kew’s Breathing Planet Programme (BPP) through the Seed Conservation Department’s operational partnerships, networks and projects with a particular emphasis on those that deliver plant conservation, sustainable utilisation of plant resources, and habitat restoration. The role enables RBG Kew to identify and create opportunities to form partnerships and projects to contribute to RBG Kew’s BPP, to gain access to plant diversity on mutually agreed terms, and to strengthen the academic and technical networks that underpin RBG Kew’s long term partnerships.
The International Projects Officer role is to coordinate and manage projects and project teams, to meet the objective of collecting and storing seed from one in four plant species by 2020. You will be instrumental in coordinating input from Millennium Seed Bank Partnership (MSBP) project partners and the negotiation of international partnerships and access agreements in line with national and international legal & policy frameworks, ‘in kind’ support, budgeting and reporting templates, and strategic planning and problem-solving throughout the life-cycle of projects.
