Q&A: Mariéme Jamme on Africa’s girl coder generation

[LONDON] In this podcast, Senegalese-born entrepreneur and activist Mariéme Jamme talks about technology’s role in driving social and economic change in Africa.

Jamme runs SpotOne Global Solutions, a UK-based consultancy that helps global technology companies develop their business in Africa, Asia and the Middle East. But she is perhaps best known for her tireless and wide-ranging work supporting technological development, sustainable enterprise, education and mentoring networks across Africa and the diaspora.

In this interview, Jamme talks about the challenges she overcame as a young girl in Senegal to pursue a career in technology, her founding of the innovation platform Africa Gathering, the young coders she mentors across Africa, and the importance of networks for innovators and coders in Africa and across the world.

The interview was recorded at the Women of the World Festival, in London, United Kingdom, on 7 March.
