<p>In this interview, Mususu Kaonda, a materials science PhD student at the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom, and the first female lecturer in the University of Zambia’s School of Mines, talks about the need for mentoring to encourage more young women to begin science and engineering careers.</p>
<p>She herself acts as a role model, visiting schools in Zambia. Kaonda also speaks about her research, which is intended to add value to the mineral commodities extracted in Zambia.</p>
