Mark Lynas is the author of several books on the environment, including High Tide, Six Degrees, and The God Species and Nuclear 2.0. He is a frequent speaker around the world on climate change, biotechnology and nuclear power, and was climate advisor to the President of the Maldives, Mohamed Nasheed, between 2009 and 2011. In October 2013 he was appointed a Visiting Fellow at Cornell University’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and is currently assisting Cornell in launching GM insect-resistant eggplant in Bangladesh to reduce pesticide use. He is also a member of the advisory board of the pro-science advocacy group Sense About Science; is vice-chair of the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council on Emerging Technologies; and acts as a food, agriculture and climate change consultant to Oxfam International.
