AJOL is an online database that hosts more than 400 peer-reviewed, African-published research journals. Over a quarter of these journals are open access. The website provides access to tables of contents, abstracts and links to full-text articles in PDF format, as well as author guidelines and contact details for each journal. It also provides useful resources for researchers and publishers.

EdStats, developed by the World Bank, collects data on education from national reports, UNESCO (UN Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization) and the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development to provide educational statistics for over 200 countries and regions.

It also includes World Bank public expenditure data from 2002 onwards as well as projections of educational attainment and enrolment rates until 2050.

Data can be custom searched but is also available in pre-defined reports by country or topic, for example on the Millennium Development Goals or private education expenditure.

EIFL works with libraries and other partners around the world to increase access to knowledge for research and sustainable community development. One of the programmes run by the organisation, the Public Library Innovation Programme, gives small grants to public libraries in developing countries to implement community development services using information and communication technology (ICT). The programme supports 37 services in 22 countries, as well as studies to evaluate their impact. Projects include using mobile phones to deliver health messages to communities, and providing farmers with access to libraries' online resources on market prices and farm technology. The website publishes news, information on grants, events, case studies and information about the impacts of projects.

Knowledge for Development is a web-based source of information on science and technology for agriculture and rural development in African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) countries. It promotes collaboration between agricultural research and development scientists and technologists in ACP countries, and facilitates dialogue between ACP and European communities with the aim of strengthening policy formulation on science and technology issues.

It aims to facilitate the use of indigenous knowledge to help farmers devise systems to cope with change, achieve food security, sustain livelihoods and protect the environment. It also works towards integrating local innovations into formal agricultural research.
