China's space scientists blocked from US meeting

Organisers of the World Space Congress have protested about the treatment of dozens of Chinese scientists and engineers.

All but two of the 70 Chinese delegates were denied visas for the congress, which was held earlier this month in Houston, Texas.

A spokesperson says that the delegates and conference organisers only learned of the decision at the last minute, leading to the sudden withdrawal of most of the Chinese papers.
