Climate Finance Options

This website provides guidance on financing options available for climate change mitigation and adaptation in the developing world. It publishes information on where to access funds available from multilateral and bilateral institutions, as well as public and private sources. This includes information on how the funds are governed, and how to assess project eligibility. The websites invites users to offer feedback and comment on ongoing projects, and share their experiences with projects that were funded successfully.

Climate Lite

Part of the Institute of Development Studies at Sussex University, United Kingdom, Climate Lite publishes briefings and short films on climate change and international development.

These cover issues including low-carbon development, climate change research and the Sahel community, China's position on reducing carbon emissions, the legal aspects of encouraging the United States to sign up to a climate agreement, social protection and climate adaptation, and pro-poor climate adaptation.

The information is presented in non-technical language, making it accessible for people with little knowledge of climate change. The website is aimed at policymakers and climate change practitioners.

Forest Carbon Asia

This website publishes information about climate change mitigation through forest carbon sequestration and storage across Asia. It provides news and views from the media, a library of publications, directories of forest carbon stakeholders, announcements about vacancies and events, links to useful resources and reviews of science and policy developments in the field. The publications section includes in-house articles and research reports that review developments, identify gaps and draw lessons from forest carbon activities in the region. Readers can comment, engage in discussion and contribute information to the website.

Forests and Climate Change Toolbox

This website, created by the Center for International Forestry Research, publishes a wealth of information on the links between climate change and forests in topics ranging from adaptation to mitigation to carbon accounting to the role of biofuels. It includes case studies as well as visual and audio presentations.

Guardian Environment

The Guardian Environment website publishes news and commentary on environmental issues such as climate change, energy, ethical living, food and recycling.

It also provides blogs, job listings and multimedia, including audio and video podcasts. Users can comment and are encouraged to join discussions.

The website also aggregates relevant news from members of the Guardian Environment Network, which brings together the world's best environment websites including SciDev.Net, China Dialogue, Real Science and the World Resources Institute.

The Climate and Development Knowledge Network

The Climate and Development Knowledge Network offers advice, technical assistance, research, knowledge sharing and capacity-building services on "climate-compatible development" — interlinking climate change adaptation and mitigation with poverty reduction and development. Its services are provided free of charge to policymakers in 'priority' countries and to some international organisations.

Free-access publications, presentations, policy briefs and opinion articles are provided through the website, which also publishes information on projects such as how to make climate finance work for Africa, and finding climate-compatible development solutions in Ghana. The network encourages knowledge sharing and partnership building through community workspaces, blogs and social networking tools. The website is available in English and Spanish.
