UN Development Programme Drylands Development Centre

Based in Nairobi, Kenya, this centre helps countries in dry regions with their poverty alleviation planning, research, analysis and capacity-building efforts. The centre was founded in 1973 in response to recurring droughts in the Sahel. It was known then as the UN Sudano-Sahelian Office and was based in Burkina Faso carrying out relief and development work.
