The European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) is an international scientific research organization consisting of a headquarters laboratory situated in Heidelberg Germany and four Outstations. The EMBL Outstation in Grenoble has about 85 people and an active research programme in structural molecular biology. It shares a common site with the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF) and the Institut Laue Langevin (ILL).
The Outstation in Grenoble is seeking to recruit a Senior Administrative Officer to head the administrative team of 3 staff at the outstation (liaison, purchase and administrative officers). The Senior Administrative Officer is responsible for the management, administration and delivery of all administrative services at the outstation and ensures that they are accomplished in an effective and efficient manner and within all legislative, policy and procedural guidelines. S/he will report to the Head of the Grenoble Outstation and be working very closely with the central units under the Administrative Director at EMBL main Laboratory in Heidelberg, Germany.
The main duties/responsibilities include:
Applicants should have a relevant university degree and at least five years of experience in an administrative position in an international environment with a similar scope of responsibility. We are looking for a service minded doer with a strong ability to manage complexity.
