Consumer Project on Technology

This US-based consumer project was started in 1995 and currently focuses on intellectual property rights and health care, as well as electronic commerce (broadly defined) and competition policy. The CPTech website provides a comprehensive archive of developments in these topics as well as various listservs including IP-Health (see below).

Genome News Network

The Genome News Network is published by The Center for the Advancement of Genomics, and aims to be a lively, trusted online magazine that covers important developments in genomics research around the world. It is updated on a fortnightly basis with news and feature stories about human medicine, agriculture, microbes, and biotechnology, among other current topics. The website also features a guide to sequenced genomes and an interactive timeline of key events in genetic research.

Innovation Portal

An initiative of the Indian Department of Science Technology and the Confederation of Indian Industry, the Innovation Portal publishes information on innovations, patent procedures and trade fairs for Indian companies. It hosts a discussion forum where individuals can post problems or queries — providing a way for industry to communicate its technological needs.

Internet Patent News Service

This email list provides (mostly) daily news service dealing with information about the patenting world. It contains lots of interesting news and 'gossip' on patents in the United States and internationally.

IPRsonline

IPRsonline is an Internet portal on intellectual property and sustainable development. It contains relevant documents and resources, including a guide to IPRs, proposals submitted to the WTO, discussion papers classified by topics, a calendar of IPRs related events, latest news on IPRs, and links to listservs and relevant institutions working on IPRs.

IPRsonline.org publishes information on intellectual property rights (IPRs), trade and sustainable development. One section of the website is dedicated to publications that link technology transfer and IPRs.

Traditional Ecological Knowledge - AAAS Project

This is a project of Internet-based documentation concerning the ways that various plant species are used. The website focuses on indigenous knowledge, patents and intellectual property rights. It is run by the American Association for the Advancement of Science.

World Intellectual Property Organisation

WIPO is a UN specialised agency with 179 member states that administers 23 international treaties dealing with different aspects of intellectual property protection. The website holds useful information about all aspects of intellectual property rights.
