All comments will be checked for potential legal problems, and will be published at the discretion of the editorial staff. They may be edited to ensure that they are compatible with our house style. However we are keen to keep any restriction on publishing readers' comments to a minimum, in order to stimulate as wide a debate as possible on the material that we publish.

SciDev.Net is sponsored by the journals Science and Nature through agreements under which we can link directly to up to four articles online in every issue of each journal. Under our current agreements, links to articles on the Nature website remain open indefinitely, and links to articles on the Science website expire after 12 months.
