The Co-Chairs of the Scientific Steering Committee of the Climate Change And Population Conference On Africa under the auspices of the IDRC African Adaptation Research Centre of Excellence Initiative at the Regional Institute for Population Studies, University of Ghana Legon Accra, is pleased to announce the above stated conference, inviting you to submit abstracts for oral and poster presentations, and registering for the conference. We are also excited to inform you that there are opportunities to organise Symposia and Pre-Workshop Events (e.g. Capacity Building Workshops, Seminars and Short Courses).
Key objectives
· Appraise knowledge on the development wide impacts of climate change and variability. · Deepen scientific understanding of climate change events and contribute to relevant capacity. · Define long-term research and development capacity building priorities. · Promote science – policy debates to manage global climate change impacts locally. · Strengthen relevant risk communication and management strategies among stakeholders.
